‘THE MIS-TRACE’, a conceptual art exhibition by the country’s prolific and prominent visual artist Nazia Andaleeb Preema, Chair, Preema Arte Foundation; Founder, Bangladesh Creative Forum; President, Women in Leadership (WIL); Director, Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) was inaugurated in the capital. The exquisite exhibition was attended by hundreds of art lovers and enthusiasts. The opening ceremony took place on 19th November 2021 at Dhaka Gallery – who were also the proud host of this auspicious exhibition.
Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP was the honourable Chief Guest at the opening ceremony of the event. The event was also graced by Prof. Mohammad Eunus, Eminent Artist; Ms. Sara Zaker, Theatre Actor/Director; Mr. Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director & CEO, Eastern Bank Ltd, and Mustapha Khalid Palash, Founder, Dhaka Gallery.
The Mis-Trace, an exclusive exhibition is a reflection of her own identity and declaration of her undivided territory. Preema – a highly passionate, evolving, and innovative artist who has been experimenting with art for the last 25 years as a thinker. Through continuous learning and creativity, the artist connects all the dots of visual expression and interpretation. She is a very different artist whose process of practice is worship towards art and its connotation. This exhibition will represent more than 50 artworks that she created during her isolation as a solitary woman describing her infinite story. Her intervention is strategic but her expression is magical. She is a true rebel of the Bangladesh art scene and a signature of freedom.
The Opening Ceremony on 19th November 2021 also marked the birthday of this magnanimous & talented artist. The exhibition will remain open to the public from 20th November 2021 till 3rd December 2021 every day from 03:30 PM to 08:00 PM.
Nazia Andaleeb Preema, a highly passionate, creative and sensual artist of Bangladesh is also an entrepreneur and creative activist. Her thought-provoking, contrasting approach to creating visual tension is an instinctive, intuitive, and powerful weapon to challenge stereotypical thinking of women of our society. Preema’s multidisciplinary works were represented in Bangladesh National Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019. Her works have been showcased at Asian Art Biennale, Fukuoka Museum Residency, Tashkent Biennale, Istanbul Biennale, Venice International Art Expo (2010, 2012, 2014), Cannes Lions along with prestigious art fairs (Art Basel Miami, Tuyup Art Fair/Istanbul, Dubai Art Festival, Dhaka Art Summit, Delhi International Art Festival), gallery and museums. Her curatorial projects include several large-scale international expositions (Bangladesh, USA, UK, France).
